Introduction to Machine Learning: From Theory to Practice
|
On September 7, 2026, at 7:30 PM, the IEEE ENIS Industry Applications Society Chapter and the IEEE ENIS Computational Intelligence Society Student Branch Chapter successfully co-hosted an online technical workshop titled "Machine Learning Foundations: Train Your First Model". Designed to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical engineering application, the session brought together student members, technology enthusiasts, and aspiring data scientists across the region. The event was led by Mohamed Amine Charfi, a Technical Consultant at KPMG and former Chair of the IEEE ENIS Student Branch. Drawing from both his industry expertise and his extensive background in student leadership, the speaker delivered an engaging and structured presentation. The webinar covered fundamental machine learning concepts, including core algorithms, data preprocessing techniques, model evaluation metrics, and real-world industrial application scenarios. Attendees were guided step-by-step through a hands-on walkthrough on how to clean datasets, configure parameters, and train their very first machine learning model. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where participants discussed industry trends, career pathways in technical consulting and AI, and practical tips for executing student-led data science projects. |
