CASS STEM Discovery Camp: Smart Sensing, Embedded Systems and AIoT for Underprivileged Students
The CASS STEM Discovery Camp: Smart Sensing, Embedded Systems and AIoT for Underprivileged Students is a two-day hands-on STEM outreach initiative organized by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Student Branch Chapter, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology.
The program aims to introduce approximately 50–60 students aged 13–17 from government schools and nonprofit institutions to the fundamentals of electronics, electrical circuits, embedded systems, smart sensing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT).
Through practical demonstrations, guided experiments, and interactive learning activities, students will explore how sensors, microcontrollers, and connected devices are used to develop real-world technological solutions. The initiative also aims to encourage scientific curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills among students.
To promote sustainable learning, STEM kits and educational resources will be provided to support continued experimentation and project development beyond the camp. This initiative reflects IEEE CASS's commitment to promoting STEM education, expanding access to technology, and advancing technology for the benefit of society.
