Micro Mentoring Week 2026 – IEEE Student Branch UNL

Micro Mentoring Week 2026 is an activity organized by the IEEE Student Branch at the Universidad Nacional de Loja, supported by the IEEE Computer Society, that creates a close, welcoming space for guidance between students and professionals with experience in different areas of computing. Participants will receive focused mentoring, learn about real academic and professional growth journeys, get their questions answered, and take away ideas they can apply to their own education and career path.

The event will take place in person on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM, in Laboratories 1 and 2 of the Computer Science Department (Building 2) at the Universidad Nacional de Loja. Each micro-mentoring session lasts 30 minutes and includes approximately 5 students. Sessions run simultaneously in both laboratories, with an expected attendance of up to 40 students.

The mentoring areas are Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and Research. Mentors will share their career paths, the challenges they faced, the lessons they learned, and practical recommendations for students’ current education and future careers. Participants are encouraged to arrive on time and prepared with clear questions and goals to make the most of their time with each mentor. A snack will be provided to students after each session.

Objectives
