The IEEE Computer Society San Diego Chapter is organizing a Panel and Networking Event on Monday, November 16, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. This event is part of the IEEE CS Career Catalyst Pilot Program, in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies Inc., the program’s official industry partner.

The event will feature: 

• Welcome address by Dr. Upal Mahbub, Chair of IEEE San Diego Section and Vice Chair (Industry) of IEEE CS Career Catalyst Program
• A brief intro on the Maritime Museum of San Diego by Dr. Christina Brophy, President and CEO of MMSD
• Overview of the IEEE CS Career Catalyst Program by Megha Ben, Chair of the IEEE CS Career Catalyst Program and  Scholar Felicitation / Certificate Distribution 
• A distinguished panel moderated by IEEE San Diego Section and CS Chapter Chair Dr. Upal Mahbub and Megha Ben, featuring:
  • Dr. Kathleen Kramer, Past IEEE President and Professor at USD, San Diego
  • Dr. Vaishnav Srinivas, VP of Technology, Qualcomm
  • Adrian Nunez Rocha, University Relations Manager, Qualcomm
  • Abir Chermiti, Program Manager, IEEE Industry Engagement 
• A social networking hour for the 15 Selected Career Catalyst Scholars and CS BoGs with local IEEE leadership, professionals, students, and volunteers. Attendees will have exclusive private access to the "Star of India".

Parking outside of the museum is managed by the Port of San Diego and is a pay by plate system which is enforced daily from 10am-8pm. The rate is $2.50 an hour with a maximum of 3 hours a day per license plate.
