   The  IEEE Student Branch of TKR College of Engineering and Technology, is organizing a  IEEE Membership Day  on 17th October 2026 at the TKR Auditorium. The programme is designed to create awareness about IEEE membership and professional opportunities. This event :    

   Creates awareness among students about IEEE, its professional activities and membership benefits.

Opportunities in Power & Energy Sector for Innovation and Technology Applications in India

The technical session, organized as part of the IEEE Membership Drive, aims to highlight the importance of IEEE membership in fostering technical excellence, professional development, and research collaboration. The invited speaker will share valuable technical insights and emerging trends in the relevant engineering domain, while emphasizing how IEEE membership provides access to technical resources, networking opportunities, professional activities, and lifelong learning. The session seeks to motivate students and faculty to become active IEEE members and engage with the global engineering community.

Biography:

Dr.P.V.Rajgopal is a B.Tech (EEE) graduate from NIT(REC), Warangal. He has a Ph.D. degree (in Power
Electronics) from IIT-Bombay, Mumbai. He has a PGDM (Marketing) from AIMA, Delhi.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE, USA. He is a Fellow of IE India.
He was Chairman (2018 to 2020), PES/IAS/PELS Joint Chapter/IEEE-Hyderabad Section, India.
Also, Vice-Chair (2025 & 2026), Industrial Electronics Society (IES)/ IEEE-Hyd. Section, India.
His Publications are a) Patents: 3 Nos. & b) Papers : 12 Nos.
He was Chairman/ Session on “Electric & Hybrid Vehicles”, on 8-Oct-2018, in the IEEE- International Conf. on
“Asia Pacific Power& Energy Engineering Conference(APPEEC-2018)”, held 8-10, Oct-2018, in Malaysia.
He worked in BHEL, Corporate R&D at Hyderabad for more than 36 years and retired as Additional General
Manager (Power Electronics Systems Group). He held many Senior level assignments in New Product
Development, Innovation & Technology Development, Market Development and Human Resource Development
with BHEL. He was also part of the team responsible for starting and developing the Power Electronics Systems
Group in BHEL (R&D). BHEL is an organization of national & international repute manufacturing equipment
for Power/ Energy/ Transmission / Industrial / Transportation Sectors in India and is a Maha-Ratna PSU in India.
