Join IEEE Rwanda Young Professionals for an afternoon panel discussion on Rwanda’s new EV battery interoperability regulation. In June 2026, Rwanda became the first country in Africa to require battery-swapping interoperability, paving the way for riders to swap compatible batteries across licensed networks.

The panel brings together voices from government, e-mobility companies, charging infrastructure and finance to discuss what interoperability means in practice, how companies are preparing, and how investment can support the transition. The session also includes a short introduction to IEEE Young Professionals, an open Q&A, and networking over refreshments.

This is an opportunity to learn about a major change in Rwanda’s e-mobility sector and connect with industry and policy leaders. Engineers, students, professionals and all others interested in the topic are welcome. This event is hosted at the Digital Transformation Center Rwanda, implemented by GIZ as part of German Development Cooperation.
