Agenda/Abstract: The goal of this presentation is to serve as an introduction to the various certifications in software project management and the career paths associated with them. It is aimed at Professionals in the IT industry who want to append their experience in the field with a certification that can vault them to the next level and on a path to upper management. The presentation mainly concentrates on Project Management Methodology from the PMBOK and AGILE methodology; but it also covers certification paths in related fields like ITIL and Six Sigma. It also covers some concepts like Extreme Programming and CoBit, to provide the audience familiarity with them.

Biography: Rahul Dronamraju is a Market Research Analyst and Project Coordinator at Tachyon Communications Inc. TCI is an IT Consulting firm specializing Strategic Management Consulting and Program & Project Management. He has managed teams executing a variety of projects that have involved development of computer based training, implementing learning management systems, portal development ,set-up of small IT business, PCI security, and re-engineering the IT infrastructure of Schools and not-for-profits. Through the various SMEs at TCI, he has been introduced to the best practices in Project Management , and has developed a several presentations for employees as a primer to the various internal practices applied during their projects.
