Wind power has gained rapid growth in the last few years over the world due to its mature technology and the government support on wind power development. Offshore wind power has got more attention lately because of the high potential of offshore wind power and technology development of offshore wind turbines and connection
The seminar on connection and control for offshore wind power plants has been established to provide members of IEEE in Denmark and other interested parties to get acquainted with the latest development on connection and control for offshore wind power plants.
The IEEE Power and Energy Danish Chapter has succeeded in getting a number of presentations from Danish industry, Korean Power Corporation and DTU.
The Distinguished Lecturer (DL) covers current and future standards on:
• Offshore wind power planning in Denmark and North Sea.
• Offshore wind power planning in Korea
• Experience on offshore wind power plant connection from Siemens Wind Power
• HVAC and VSC HVDC for wind power integration
• Offshore DC grid
• Power-hardware-in-the-loop (PHIL) test platform for VSC HVDC technology
