[Legacy Report] Secrets of Low Loss coaxial cables

#2012 #Symposium-8
Share

This paper describes the 2012 USA state of the art of practical low loss flexible Coaxial cable and the associated connectors for use up to 50 GHz. These cables are suitable for system and test cable use. The physical and electronic effects of different cable constructions will be addressed. Data is presented showing some of the effects of temperature vs phase of different generic constructions and of the use of different dielectric materials. Data on some practical solutions to the PTFE phase “knee” will be presented.
