[Legacy Report] P1876 Standard for Networked Smart Learning Objects for Online Laboratories.
The meeting objective is to inform researchers the stabdardization work being done on Standard for Networked Smart Learning Objects for Online Laboratories in the framework of the P1876(tm) Working Group Chaired By Prof. Hamadou Saliah-Hassane. The purpose of IEEE P1876(tm) Standard is to ease the design and implementation of pedagogically driven remote laboratory experiments and its learning environments. Remote laboratories for engineering and science education are technology enhanced learning systems. They are becoming more and more popular. In many cases, a remote laboratory experiment consists in remotely interacting with devices over computer networks without necessarily reflecting the educational objectives that underlie the activities. IEEE P1876 will establish the relationship between all the components (software, hardware, and learning systems) in order to ease the design and implementation of pedagogically driven remote or mobile laboratory experiments.
