[Legacy Report] New Technologies and their role in our security, culture, democratic, social and economic systems
• Securing Australia’s Future (SAF5) Project: Fifteen Australia SSIT members contributed to the Australian government technology report “New Technologies and their role in our security, culture, democratic, social and economic systems†by participating in a full-day roundtable workshop held at the University of Melbourne on Saturday, 3rd August. Convened by the Australian Academy of Science (AAS) on behalf of the Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA), and held under the auspices of the “SAF5 Projectâ€, the workshop was arranged between Dr Greg Adamson and Prof Rob Evans (UMelb), SAF05 Expert Working Group Chair, in recognition that SSIT members represented a diverse range of technological and societal interests, and as such could make a valued contribution to the Report. The SSIT roundtable proved to be a very interesting, energetic and insightful day for the SAF 5 Project Team. Details about the SAF report can be found at: http://technologyforaustralia.org/
