Dr. Rachana Garg
Overview of Micro-grids: Issues and Challanges
Biography:
Dr. Rachana Garg had done B.E. and M.Tech in Electrical Engg. From Maulana Azad College of Technology (NIT) Bhopal. She have been awarded Ph.D. on “Digital Modeling of multi conductor Transmission lines” from Delhi University. Throughout her UG studies, she was the recipient of ‘Merit Scholarship’ from M.P. Govt.
After completing her studies, she had joined ‘Indian Telephone Industries’ (ITI), Naini as Asstt. Executive Engineer. Later she had shifted to Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering). Presently she is working as Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering Deptt, DTU.
She has published several papers in International and National journals and conferences.
She had guided one PhD on “Digital Model of Railway Electric traction system and Sensitivity Studies” and is guiding 05 more research scholars in the area of renewable energy and smart grid.
She has organised many conferences, workshops and short term courses for faculty members and students.
Her areas of interest are Transmission and distribution systems, Renewable energy systems, Smart grid, computing techniques and their application in power systems.
She is a senior member of IEEE. She was the member of Nomination Committee of PELS. Presently, is the Secretary, IEEE Delhi Section, Chair, Student Activities Committee of IEEE Delhi Section, Immediate Past Chair of PES-IAS Delhi Chapter and faculty advisor of PES-IAS student chapter, DTU.She is also a life member of ISTE.
