IEEE-SPACE ANTENNA WORKSHOP

IEEE-Space Antenna Workshop (ISAW), a one day event conducted on 21^st December ,2018 in SP Grand Days Hotel, Trivandrum, Kerala was a joint initiative of IEEE APS Kerala chapter and Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Trivandrum . The Event featured 5 eminent speakers, Dr.Sudhakar Rao (IEEE life Fellow, Northrop Grumann), Dr. Debatosh Guha(IEEE Fellow, Head-IRPE, University of Calcutta), Dr. Nacer Chahet (NASA-JPL)  ,Dr. Chinmoy Saha(IIST)  and Dr. T.J. Apren (Ex.VSSC Scientist)  from the Space Antenna domain . A total of 65 participants took part in the workshop and the  lectures catered to the diverse audience of professionals, scientists, academicians, students from ISRO, C-DAC, and various Colleges from Kerala. Throughout the day a membership development Booth was also kept to encourage students to become a part of IEEE, and around 15 students were recruited to be a part of IEEE and IEEE-APS. During the valedictory session, the dignitaries were felicitated and the winners of the IEEE-APS Technical Poster Competition conducted in IIST on 12^th November, 2018 were also awarded with a momento and a cash prize.  The Workshop concluded with a cutting of cake for celebrating the momentous occasion of  IIST APS SB winning the Best APS Student Branch Chapter for 2018 and IEEE-APS Kerala winning the Outstanding Chapter Award for 2018.
