Linux Bootcamp
Linux is an Operating System which is truly the base of all Operating Systems like Ubuntu, Solaris, POSIX etc. It was developed in the 1970s by Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie, and it was originally meant for programmers developing software rather than non-programmers. The source code of Linux is freely available to its users. Linux OS is portable, flexible, and can be executed in different hard drives. It has graphical user interface along with command line interface. Azure is a public cloud computing platform—it is Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) that can be used for services such as analytics, virtual computing, storage, networking, and much more. It can be used to replace or supplement your on-premise servers.
The objective of this workshop was to introduce the students to Linux using RedHat. The workshop aimed at making students capable of understanding the difference between different types of OS and how to work on this particular OS. The students were also given basic knowledge of cloud and using this they made their own Microsoft student account. In addition, this would help them immensely in their minor projects.
