Implementation of Positive Train Control (PTC) at the Long Island Railroad
Biography:
Ms. Deborah Chin is the Executive Director for Positive Train Control at the Long Island Rail Road since August 2015. She previously worked at New York City Transit (NYCT) for 27 years, serving as the Program Officer for the Signals & Train Control Program Area in her last assignment. During her tenure at NYCT, she was instrumental in the deployment of many different computer-based systems, such as Communications Based Train Control (CBTC), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), “countdown clocks”, and Help Points on station platforms. Debbie holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester, and a Master’s in Public Administration from CUNY Baruch College. She is a Professional Engineer in the State of New York.
