IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section
IEEE Communications and Signal Processing Societies Joint Chapter in collaboration with IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section has organized a “One day workshop on Digital Signal Processing using Python through Raspberry Pi” hosted at IEEE Student Branch, GITAM (Deemed to be University). The speaker, Dr. G. V. V. Sharma, Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad has explained the benefits of using python and raspberry pi in signal processing applications. It is essential for a student to learn the quickest and smartest way to access and utilize the technologies. Instead of going for paid proprietary license software, these open source resources could be used for research and publication purposes. Hands-on laboratory programs emphasizing the real time digital signal processing applications were taught and executed. This workshop helped students in understanding the importance of signal processing in this fast advancing world with new innovations coming through every day.

G.V.V.Sharma, currently working
as an Assistant professor at the Departmentof Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad.Received Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute ofTechnology,Bombay and M.Sc.(Engg.) from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. AndB.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.Before joining IIT Hyderabad as a faculty, I was employed in the softwareindustry. I work on wireless technologies, but have a passion for developmentalengineering: taking technology to the masses.
