IEEE Chicago/Rockford Consultants' Network; "How to Manufacture"; Special Host Venue at The Morey Corporation with Facility Tour

PRESENTATION: "How to Manufacture"
Alan J. Mindlin from The Morey Corporation, will present their process for product design and the primary steps of seeing a design get into and move through manufacturing. The program will include a tour of Morey Corporation’s Woodridge electronics manufacturing facility, a review of the engineering specialties involved, and a short discussion of how Morey uses consultants in their design process. Morey specializes in rugged and reliable electronics and electro-mechanical devices and focuses on construction, mining, agriculture, automotive, and other equipment markets.

Alan Mindlin of The Morey Corporation
Biography:
Alan J. Mindlin is a Technical Manager at The Morey Corporation. He is responsible for leading programs within the matrixed development organization, leading teams of systems, firmware, electrical, mechanical, and test engineers. Alan also leads some R&D efforts as well as works to develop new business. Before his four years at Morey, he had a consulting business focused on working with start-ups to help them get their first prototype ready for customers and investors. Previous to that, he had a long career in development and product management with Bell Labs as part of AT&T, Lucent, and Alcatel-Lucent. He has a BSEE from Washington University in St. Louis, an MSEE from Purdue University, and an MBA from the Olin School of Washington University in St. Louis. He is a Senior Member of the I.E.E.E.
