5nines Data Center and 100state Tour
What do entrepreneurs and consultants need? Computing power and co-working! Come join the Madison IEEE ECN as we host a 5nines data center and 100state tour. Even if you're not an entrepreneur or consultant, this should be an interesting event.
We will meet at the 100state co-working space where Emily Volland, director of community & programming, will give us a short tour and presentation about the 100state co-working space.
Next, Marcus Cota, network specialist with 5nines, will give a presentation followed by a tour of their data center. The presentation is entitled "Power – Cooling – Internet; High availability and redundancy in 5NINES Data Center".
5 nines will provide snacks & beverages for the presentation. After the data center tour, anyone interested can return to 5NINES office for Pin Ball, Foosball, and our office Keg where we can continue any conversations.

Biography:
I was in the first graduating class at Herzing College with an Associate’s Degree as a Computer Network Technician. I received my CCNA, Net+, A+, and Microsoft Certified Professional certificates. I then went on to study Visual Communications at MATC for a second Associate’s Degree to include Sales & Marketing with my IT skills.
Tony Kapela, 5NINES CTO and I were in the same graduating class at Herzing. We'd get to class an hour early, configure networks in the lab, break it, fix it, and then repeat after class. When I learned he was working at 5NINES and built their Data Center, I reached out to continue working with him.
After starting at 5NINES, I became the person responsible for managing the Data Center and all Internet Services. I was responsible for all internet installations and infrastructure design for fixed wireless internet service. It was my college dream to work with TK and I am honored to maintain and continue improving what he and Todd Streicher built for 5NINES.
