Block Chain and Data Confidentiality

Blockchain is great when you need data integrity, such as an unalterable set of records, or provenance in supply chain. When you want data confidentiality, however, you need to rely on other tools. Can blockchain implementations balance these two key aspects of cyber security, Confidentiality and Integrity?

Biography:

Dr. Greg Adamson is an Associate Professor at the Melbourne School of Engineering of University of Melbourne.  Dr Greg Adamson has worked with blockchain since 2013. He established the IEEE Special Interest Group on blockchain in 2016, and is a member of the Standards Australia Technical Committee on blockchain. He is also part of the blockchain startup ArtChain Global. He is a past president of the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology, Enterprise Fellow for Cyber Security at the University of Melbourne, chairs the conference series Norbert Wiener in the 21st Century, and the IEEE Standards Association industry connection program Digital Inclusion, Identity, Trust and Agency.
