IEEE Hyderabad section  WIE AG in association with Vardhaman College of Engineering organising a talk on "Change the world-To Be a Change maker " by Ms. Emi Yano, IEEE Region 10 Women in Engineering Committee Chair
Ricoh IT Solutions

The role of women as changemakers cannot be emphasised more, and need not be emphasised in particular, because it’s women who drive the change at home, at work, and everywhere else. “Be the change you want to see in the world”, said Gandhiji. That one quote sums up the essence of today’s Webinar – about changing the world and the role of changemakers in the world. With the speaker’s specilisation in Kansei Engineernig or Affective Engineering, and her experience with developing information processing technologies for diverse behaviours of users, I am sure that the speaker Ms. Emi Yano adds a great value in understanding change and our role in it as women engineers. An underlying motive of the engineering profession is to create a better world, or to drive an underlying systemic change. And approaching the change through the needs and behaviours of a diverse set of users is a distinctive feature that we all can learn a great deal from. Let’s apply the inherent empathy that we women in particular have, in understanding the need for change and the motivational aspects thereof to change the world to be changemakers.

It is important to bring about a change in our nature so it reflects on the attitude of the world change towards the individual. To be a change maker, one has to put relentless efforts to identify a problem and work meticulously to build a solution. In the process, one need to apply problem solving, critical skills coupled with teamwork, leadership an empathy to make a positive impact.

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thoughts.
One of the biggest lie that somebody can tell you is that you cannot do anything about these global challenges, the truth is you can - every effort makes a difference.Youth will be better prepared and equipped for the future when provided knowledge that inspires action.
