Clemson University and SCE&G, with help from others, is building a large Wind
Turbine Drivetrain Testing Facility & Grid Simulator at the CURI Research Park in
North Charleston. The CURI Research Park is located at the former Navy Base in
N. Charleston. The Wind Turbine facility is across the street from the H. L.
Hunley building.
The massive scale of the machinery and the innovative ability to simulate power
grid events in real time are impressive. Don’t miss this tour! For more
