Women in Engineering Book Club Event
Join us for our end-of-summer book club event! We will be discussing Race After Technology by Ruha Benjamin.
About the book:
In Race After Technology, Ruha Benjamin argues that emerging technologies have the potential to reinforce and deepen social inequity. She explores how technologies like facial recognition software, predictive policing, and social media algorithms can be used to surveil, control, and discriminate against people of color.
About the event:
We will meet online on September 14, 2023 @ 6:30 pm to discuss the book. We will also have a chance to meet other women in engineering and learn more about their experiences.
How to participate:
To participate, please read Race After Technology and RSVP by August 31st. We will send out a meeting link closer to the event date.
