Come join the IEEE Eastern North Carolina Section for a summer social at Dorothea Dix Park during the August 19th 21st Annual Kirby Derby. This event is for the entire family. We will meet at 12:00 Noon and eat at 1:00 PM. The Kirby Derby will be setting up all day, so you are welcome to check out that process any time. Their events begin at 3:30 PM.

Here are some of the activities available: Kirby Derby, hiking and biking trails, playground, hammocks and dog park. There are tables and benches under the shelter, but feel free to bring extras. We need more tables and chairs.

Amenities: Public Parking, Swings, Benches, Hammocks, Temporary Restrooms or Restrooms in the Chapel.

We will eat, drink and have fellowship
Ken, our humanoid Robot as well as the MOVE truck are invited, so we will update you on that
Great hiking and biking opportunities at Dix Park
Dogs must be kept on-leash unless inside the dog park fence
Please come out and have a good time

The Magnolia Room Shelter is easy to find from either the Blair Drive or the Hunt Drive entrance. See the map below for Parking. The Shelter is west of the "Sunflower Field." (You will not likely be able to use the Lake Wheeler Road and Umstead Drive entrance.)
