Body Area Communications

This talk will introduce the basic principle and mechanism of body area communications, and provide some examples of its application to on-body communication and in-body communication. It will involve body-area channel modeling, modulation and demodulation, and EMC aspects.

Biography:

Jianqing Wang received his Dr. Eng. degrees in electrical and communication engineering from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 1991.

He was a Senior Engineer with the Sophia Systems Company, Ltd., Japan.

In 1997, he joined the Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan, where he has been a Full Professor since 2005.

His research interests include electromagnetic compatibility and biomedical communications. He authored the book “Body Area Communications” (Wiley-IEEE) in 2012.

In 2021, he was elevated to IEEE Fellow for his contributions to EMC of biological and wearable/implant devices.
