PES / IAS / LM Joint Meeting

The PES / IAS Chapters and the Life Member Affinity Group will sponsor a technical seminar on

Intelligent Energy Metering: Issues and Considerations

The session will be held on:

Friday, January 22, 2016 at PSE&G - 4000 Hadley Road, South Plainfield, NJ 07080-1192

Topic:

Will be focusing on utility metering applications, demand side metering with focused use on cases such as data center, healthcare and industrial. There will be a very detailed and relevant review of meter standards (ie: ANSI C12 and IEEE 519) as well as meter measurement methodology and the multiple levels of meters and how and when they are best applied by end users.

In addition there is a planned focus on CT technologies to round out the session.

  1. Reliability and ruggedness

  2. Improved accuracy

  3. Nonlinear loads and low-power factors

  4. Ease of calibration

  5. Anti-tampering protection

  6. Automated meter reading

  7. Security

  8. Billing
