GONZAGA UNIVERSITY ROBOTICS EVENT
The IEEE Student Chapter at Gonzaga has hosted an expert guest speaker to talk about the field of robotics, related career paths, and innovative research. The event, Wed Nov. 1 at noon in Herak 244, featured information on this important career path, some current projects and a 3 member panel of PhD graduate students from Dr. Shovic’s research program.
Dr. Shovic is Director of the University of Idaho’s research organization: The Center for Intelligent Industrial Robotics (CI2R). His technical expertise is focused on the following fields: manufacturing and industrial robotics, applications of advanced AI techniques to robotics, embedded systems, cyber security and real time operating systems. Dr. Shovic is currently working on a number of projects involving applying AI techniques in robotics, including industrial robotics, vineyard automation, and in aquifer pumped hydro with power generation.
