Bill Cheswick of Technion

Abstract - My father, Richard Cheswick, managed portfolios professionally for over 50 years. He pleased life-long clients, and made secretaries into millionaires. His investment approach was to invest long term in high-quality American growth stocks. A non-professional can do well in the market, often beating the pros. Our advantage over the pros is the long term view. We are willing to wait half a decade or more -- and to keep calm in bad times. We don't try to dodge the raindrops. We don't try to get the timing right, and our clients (ourselves) are willing to be patient. Most stocks are not worth owning, he said. How does a diligent investor choose among the thousands of companies? What are bullish signs, and when should you bail out? How should the young save for retirement?

I will relay some of his advice that has worked for me.
