The Power and Energy Society (PES) Chapter of the Spokane Section, Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE), is excited to announce the hosting of a Major Changes and General Overview of the 2017 National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) [Two (2) Day] Seminar taught by David J. Marne, P.E., President of Marne and Associates, Inc., on March 21-22, 2017 at Avista Utilities Corporation Headquarters in Spokane, Washington.  All attendees will receive a 2017 NESC Code Book and a 2017 NESC Handbook by Marne (value of $309).

 

Major Changes and General Overview of the 2017 National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) is a is a 2-day class focusing on the major changes in the 2017 edition of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC). The class will cover in detail the major changes to the NESC 2017 edition and also provide a general overview of each part of the NESC. Applying the Code to day-to-day work will be stressed by focusing on practical examples and applications.

Attendees will also receive a copy of the 2017 National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)  and a copy of  McGraw-Hill’s NESC 2017 Handbook  written by the presenter, David J. Marne.  (This is a $309 value.)

Biography:

David J. Marne, P.E., is a registered professional electrical engineer. Mr. Marne is the author of McGraw-Hill’s National Electrical Safety Code®
(NESC®) 2017 Handbook and is a  nationally recognized speaker on the NESC. 
He serves on NESC Subcommittee 4 Overhead Lines Clearances, Subcom-mittee 7 Underground Lines, Subcom-mittee 3 Electric Supply Stations, and the Interpretations Subcommittee. He is company president and senior electrical engineer for Marne and Associates, Inc. in Missoula, MT where he specializes in National Electrical Safety Code
(NESC) training, OSHA training for power and communication workers, engineering design training, and expert witness services related to the NESC, the OSHA Standards for Power and Communication workers, and Califor-nia’s General Orders GO95, GO128, and GO165. 
Mr. Marne has over 30 years of experi-ence in the utility industry engineering and managing transmission and distri-bution line projects, substation projects, electrical system planning studies, joint use (power and communication) pro-jects, and providing training and expert witness services.
