Subject Invitation Attend DC ComSoc Chapter Officers 2024/25 Election
Hello Washington DC ComSoc Chapter Members,
The Wash DC ComSoc Chapter is seeking active members to join the Wash DC ComSoc Chapter Executive Committee (CEC) team in one of the following officer roles: chair, vice chair, secretary, and treasurer. The chapter officer elections meeting commences at 1:30 PM on Saturday April 27, 2024, at the Rockville Memorial Library, 21 Maryland Ave, Rockville, MD 20850. All DC ComSoc chapter members are welcome to self-nominate themselves to serve in a position. The officer will serve from May 1, 2024, through May 1 ,2025. A prospective candidate must be present to run for a position and all DC ComSoc members must be present for the duration of the meeting to vote for a candidate. Submit your Resume/Curricula Vitae (CV) and Motivation Letter by April 20, 2024 to be considered for one of the officer roles.

Resume/Curricula Vitae (CV): provide a detailed summary of your educational background, work experience, and any relevant skills or achievements to serve as the prospective officer.
Motivation Letter: In one-two pages explain why you are interested in the position and what you envision bringing to the role. Tell us about your ideas, goals, and plans for the position you are nominating yourself.

Chair
· Ensures that the chapter is active & stimulates local member participation
· Outreach: work with volunteer to ensure satisfactory performance
· Serve as an Officer Mentor to the other Officers as well as prospective Officers
· Establishes and supports member’s interest
· Represent the Section/Chapter at IEEE gatherings
· Coordinates with prospective speakers to arrange for presentation
· Backfills in the event a committee member is unavailable (e.g. Secretary, Treasurer, etc.)
Vice Chair
· Assist the Chair as needed
· Provides guidance to new members
· Supports new and senior membership upgrade
· Attend IEEE headquarters Membership Development (MD) monthly teleconferences and support MD activities at the local level in promoting new member activities
· Arranges with other local IEEE Societies/Affinity Groups in cosponsoring events
Secretary
· Maintains the meeting minutes and records
· Submits meeting activity reports
· Supports the authoring and editing of announcements to members and cosponsors
· Attend monthly section meetings
Treasurer
· Maintain the Concentration Banking Account
· Creates and submits the annual Financial Report to IEEE headquarters
· Manage receipt payables with associated chapter expenses.
