Introduction to Drones Workshop

Drones are used in many applications, including photography, remote sensing, imaging, and other creative areas.

Many people are interested in learning about drones. How do they work? What types of drones are available? How much do they cost? How can I get a license to fly one (or do I even need one?)

In this workshop, we have a booked a three hour block of time to help address these questions and others.

I.  We plan to begin with a presentation on drones:

  1. High-level description of recent drone development.
  2. Research activities presented by researchers within University of Manitoba.
  3. Limitations and challenges in the field.

II. Information on how to get your basic drone operator license will be given.

III. Attendees will have the chance to meet with other professionals to discuss the use of drones.

IV. Example drone systems will be brought to the session to give attendees a chance to see a variety of drone systems.
