Green Horizons: IEEE Day Clean Campus Initiative

In celebration of IEEE Day, the IEEE Student Branch of RVR & JC College of Engineering organized the Cleanliness Drive on campus on 3rd October 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. This initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and community responsibility among students and faculty.

The Green Horizons initiative was a collaborative effort that brought together volunteers from various departments, all united in the common goal of enhancing the cleanliness and sustainability of our college campus. Participants were equipped with cleaning tools and worked in teams to clean common areas, classrooms, and outdoor spaces, reinforcing the significance of maintaining a clean and green environment.

The drive highlighted the values of sustainability, encouraging everyone involved to recognize their impact on the environment and the importance of taking action. Not only did this initiative contribute to the physical environment of the college, but it also inspired students to be proactive in their roles as responsible citizens. By fostering a sense of community and teamwork, the Cleanliness Drive aimed to instill lasting habits of environmental stewardship among participants.

This event reflects the IEEE Student Branch's commitment to promoting not just technological advancements, but also social responsibility and sustainability within the community.

• 2:10 PM - 2:20 PM: Introduction to the Initiative

  • Overview of the Cleanliness Drive and its significance.
  • Discussion on the importance of environmental awareness and community responsibility.

• 2:20 PM - 2:30 PM: Safety Briefing and Distribution of Cleaning Tools

  • Briefing on safety measures and proper usage of cleaning tools.
  • Distribution of gloves, masks, bags, and other cleaning supplies to participants.

• 2:30 PM - 3:10 PM: Cleanliness Drive Activities

  • Participants will work in teams to clean designated areas:

    • Common areas (libraries, corridors, etc.)
    • Classrooms
    • Outdoor spaces (gardens, playgrounds, etc.)

• 3:10 PM - 3:20 PM: Refreshments and Team Interaction

  • Providing light refreshments for participants.
