ARC FLASH: MITIGATION TECHNOLOGIES AND APPLICATIONS
Abstract: Understanding Arc Flash, the different solutions and what technology, given a specific application is best can be daunting. The concept and results can be terrifying but understanding how to weigh the risks and which methods to employ in a world where costs often trump personal safety may be even more terrifying. In this presentation, the definitions of arc flash, the differences between active and passive mitigation, the pros and cons between the options and the financial costs of an incident will be explored.
Presenter: John Costigane, Field Application Engineer – ABB, Vancouver, Washington
