Rapid nearfield pressure calculations with FOCUS, the ‘Fast Object-oriented C++ Ultrasound Simulator’
Biography:
Dr. McGough received the B.E. degree in electrical engineering and physics from Vanderbilt
University, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana-
Champaign, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor. His research interests include shear wave elastography, fractional calculus models
of compressional and shear waves, high performance computing for shock wave simulations,
and rapid numerical algorithms for therapeutic and diagnostic ultrasound. He is a fellow of the
Acoustical Society of America, and he is a standing member of the Imaging Technology and
Development (ITD) study section at NIH.
Dr. McGough is professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University.
