MOVE USA Aug'25 Tech Talk - International Medical Corps
Ronny Elfassy will provide an overview of WHO’s Emergency Medical Team (EMT) network told through various deployments with an emphasis on hardware and software used in operations.
The WHO’s EMT initiative is a global effort designed to enhance the speed and quality of emergency medical response during disasters, outbreaks, and other health emergencies. It coordinates and supports rapid deployment of health professionals and teams to areas affected by crises, ensuring that the care provided meets international standards and that local health systems are strengthened, not burdened. Since its formalization following the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the EMT network has grown to include certified teams from over 150 countries, standing ready to respond to emergencies around the world—from earthquakes and cyclones to pandemics and complex humanitarian crises.
