A summary of advanced nuclear power technologies, inclubding development activities associated with small modular reactors and micro reactors.
Biography:
Mr. Jim Smiley is the Senior Manager for Advanced Nuclear Development at Entergy and has 25 years of nuclear power experience. He began his career with the US Navy’s nuclear program supporting the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the country’s submarine and aircraft carrier fleet. With Entergy, he’s filled a variety of roles in the nuclear projects organization supporting the operating fleet and, more recently, evaluating potential paths to pursue new nuclear generation. Mr. Smiley has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Youngstown State University and a Masters in Engineering Science from the Naval Postgraduate School.
