Getting Kids Excited about STEM Education!

Fresh Start, is a one day STEM based event that was designed to ignite curiosity and passion for STEM subjects, for grades 3-12 to have hands-on engagement.

Students will discover, experiment, and collaborate in a series of dynamic science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) workshops, fostering an interactive and creative environment that encourages students to delve into the realms of exploration.

Fresh Start brings together a diverse group of professionals, educators, and mentors who are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of STEM enthusiasts. Through thought-provoking workshops and activities, Fresh Start aims to break down barriers and demystify complex concepts, making STEM subjects not only accessible but also exciting.

The iSigma Group Consulting team will be facilitating the Who Moved My Cheese? for Kids program teaching the students about "change" strategies.

Christopher Sanderson, SMIEEE

Biography:

Christopher graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a military Officer Commission in the United States Army Air Defense Artillery Core in 1995.  His military service in the United States Army Reserves expands both the Enlisted and Officer ranks. His military accommodations include numerous Medals and other citations. He finished his distinguished career with two Honorable Tours of Duty in the US Army and then went to work for Schneider Electric (formerly Square D – Group Schneider). Christopher’s business leadership experience includes key corporate opportunities from several Fortune 500 corporations with a global presence in the electrical industry. He has worked for companies like Schneider Electric (formerly Square D), General Electric (GE), SIEMENS Energy & Automation (SEA), Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), Atlas Copco, and EATON Corporation.  After completing Schneider Electric’s Technical Leadership program, Christopher was promoted to a Distributor Sales Representative role where he had sales, marketing, training, and inventory management responsibilities for the Los Angeles, California District. Where he was recognized by Senior Management for his performance and community service, in which he received the Chairman’s Alliance Award for Community Service presented by Charlie Denny, CEO.
 
Following his tenure at Schneider Electric, Christopher received the opportunity to help lead GE’s Industrial Systems formerly Electrical Distribution and Controls (EDC) business unit then under the leadership of Lloyd Trotter, CEO as part of the GE Businesses then lead by Jack Welch, CEO. Where he went into his new role as the Control Drives Sales Leader for the San Francisco District (Northern California), he was then asked to lead a GE Corporate initiative called “Boundaryless Selling” in the Southeast Region (Atlanta, GA) as the BST Southeast Regional Commercial Black Belt where he was recognized for achieving significant incremental business for the company and received the Chairman’s Gerald L. Phillippe Award for community service leadership and inducted into GE Elfun Society. 
 
After his tenure at General Electric (GE), Christopher received the opportunity to lead SIEMENS Energy & Automation AMD business unit as the Marketing Consultant / Process Manager for North America. Where he received the SIEMENS Energy and Automation (SEA) Community Service Award. 

Following his tenure at SIEMENS he went to work for Asia Brown and Brevera (ABB) as the Business Development Area Manager, Gulf Coast Region for the Power Protection Products business unit. Where he was recognized by Prairie View A&M University National Alumni Association with the Hilltopper Award for corporate and leadership support. 

Now at EATON, Christopher is a Lead Service Sales Engineer in the Houston Area. Where he continue to serves in IEEE and NSBE volunteer capacities. Most recently he was the recent recipient of the NSBE Outstanding Special Interests Group Program Award for leadership.

He is the recent 2020 Award Recipient of the IEEE-USA John Meredith Professional Service Award “For exceptional leadership and creation of programming for the professional development of IEEE’s U.S. members.” This national outstanding award is given to those selected awardees that have delivered exceptional volunteer service and contribution to IEEE US membership.
