 A one day workshop on Instilling Research and Paper Publication Culture to Undergraduates on 24th September 2017, M.I.T., Manipal by IEEE Mangalore  Sub section in association with Research and Consultancy MIT Manipal 

Highlights: Session one aimed at encompassing Research familiarization , Research article writing skills and Intellectual property rights and its importance by 3 experts while Session 2 was hands on attempt at paper writing held as a competition awarded on IEEE day 03 October 2017 at Robosoft technologies Udupi

 

The workshop was organised in association with Research and Consultancy MIT Manipal with 

Advisory Committee constituted by :

R&C, M.I.T, Manipal and Vice Chair IEEE MSS, Dr. Niranjan U.C.,   Director, Research and Training, Manipal Dot Net, Manipal

Organizing Committee comprising Professors from MIT :

Dr. Radhika M. Pai, Dr. Manjunath K.N, Dr. Ujjwal Verma, Dr.Pallavi Mane and Dr. Ajitha Shenoy, K.B

The workshop was innaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar and Dr GK Prabhu (in absentia)

 Session 1 encompassed Research familiarization & Research article writing skills by Dr Ujjwal and Dr Manjunath and Intellectual property rights and its importance by Dr.M Manohar Pai,  Director MUTBI and Research and Consultancy Manipal as well as Vice Chair IEEE MSS

Session 2 was hands on  with  the registered participants given topics as under:

Computer Science Stream: Database Systems, Computer Vision, Software Engineering.

Electrical stream: VLSI, Signal Processing, Communication.

Based on their interests the participants were provided five research articles via e-mail, from which the student was to prepare a research article  from his/her perspective using the techniques learnt in the morning session.

These files were checked for plagiarism and evaluated by 3 blind reviews from the execom members who constituted the review  panel.

58 participants comprised of 24 non IEEE and 34 IEEE participants
