Dinner AI Hands-on Workshop I
Location: Olive Garden Restaurant in 8133 Leesburg Pike, Tysons Corner Va
Date: 18 August 2025
Time: 6:00 – 9:30 PM
First of a series of hands-on workshops on Artificial Intelligence,
Using the Conversational Artificial Intelligence Companion Organizing Program (CAICORP) appplication developed in C++ and executing in Raspberry Pi 4 machines, Attendees will develop a conversational language with the CAICORP application. In this first Workshop, attendee will teach Notions and converse to the CAICORP application.
Workshop I is the first of a series of workshops designed to facilitate text-text, text-voice, text-command and ultimately voice-text and voice-command interfacing in the Raspberry Pi 4 controller.
During a following Workshop II, attendees will learn linguistic and features of the generative AI capabilities of the CAICORP application. In addition, attendees will be shown how to link language responses to programmed commands to the Raspberry Pi 4 interfaces.
the CAICORP application is a stand-alone application operated via the Linux Shell Text-User Interface, the CAICORP application will be used to provide a non-procedural adaptable front end-segment for converting english Natural Language text messages to specific commands controlling various hardware interfaces in the Raspberry Pi 4.
In Workshop III, attendees may link to the CAICORP application specific shell-invoked applications controlling the Raspberry Pi 4 hardware interfaces brought to the Workshop. Workshop III should enable anyone who has developed a general app, or a control utility for the Hardware Interfaces of the Raspberry Pi 4 to quickly link their control applications to the CAICORP application. The combination could be basic enabling technology for English-Language directed robotic operations.
The workshop will include brief discussions about assembling or obtaining turn-key the CAICORP application machines from the CS NOVA Chapter and about coordinating with attendees who may wish to conduct additional Workshops covering Control System ideas using the CAICORP application and or the Raspberry Pi 4.
Please note that due to space constraints at the dinner tables, attendance is limited to a maximum of24 participants. There will be 8 fully operational machines to sit two active operators plus one observing participant per machine.
The dinner will include one entree from the Olive Garden Restaurant and one refillable non-alcoholic drink.
To attend, registration is mandatory and only IEEE members may attend in this first run of the Workshop unless a person is specifically authorized to attend by the IEEE NOVA section chair.
