IEEE@HOME BLOCKCHAIN SERIES 2025 – Tokenising Data in Green Projects
Tokenising Data in Green ProjectsData tokenisation involves securing data streams on a blockchain to create manageable and tradable digital assets. This process enables a range of groundbreaking applications – for example, converting healthcare data into tokens to incentivise research, or transforming pre-certified carbon data into valuable assets that provide early liquidity. The primary objective will always be to generate high-quality, trustworthy data, with its inherent value derived from a verifiable source and uncompromised integrity. This will be achieved through the seamless integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) for robust data collection, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) for precise quality assessment, and the foundational power of blockchain to preserve integrity. To fully realise a tokenised data economy, several significant challenges must be addressed. These include the critical establishment of widely accepted decentralised identity systems and the strategic alignment of technological innovation with enabling policy frameworks. This webinar is provided by the WP9 - “Capacity Building” project within the Blockchain.PT agenda and co-funded by the PRR, the Portuguese Republic and the European Union |
