IEEE Xtreme 19.0
The IEEE Student Branch of Uva Wellassa University proudly participated in the IEEE Xtreme 19.0, a 24-hour global hackathon held on 25th October 2025 from 7.30 p.m. onwards. IEEE Xtreme is an annual global coding competition organized by IEEE, bringing together thousands of student members, proctors, and mentors from universities around the world to engage in a thrilling challenge of skill, innovation, and endurance.
The competition tested participants’ algorithmic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork as they collaboratively tackled complex real-world coding challenges under continuous time constraints. Representing the university at the global level, teams from Uva Wellassa University demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm and technical expertise throughout the event.
The branch ensured a well-coordinated participation experience, providing facilities, mentorship, and technical support to all competing teams.
Participation in IEEE Xtreme 19.0 not only strengthened the technical competencies of the student members but also nurtured leadership, time management, and teamwork skills essential for future industry and research pursuits. The event served as an inspiring experience that reinforced the university’s active presence within the global IEEE community and encouraged continued engagement in international technical competitions
