Objectives
The workshop aimed to equip participants with fundamental programming and version control skills. The specific objectives were:

• To build a Python foundation, introducing core concepts like data types, loops, and functions.
• To manage projects using GitHub, teaching essential Git commands for version control, team collaboration, and building a code portfolio.
• To start exploring Computer Science projects by providing guidance on initiating and managing projects.
• To promote the IEEE Computer Society Universiti Malaya Student Branch Chapter.

Participants and Attendance

• Target Audience: All Universiti Malaya students, focusing on those from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT).
• Registered Participants: 50 students.
• Actual Attendance: 27 students.

Financial Summary

Estimated Cost: RM 250.00 (to be claimed by IEEE).

Total Expenses: RM 221.55. Expenses covered items like packet drinks, buns, a frame, and certification paper.

 

Project Assessment (SWOT Analysis)

• Strengths: The event was a success, objectives were met, and the committee executed the event well.
• Weaknesses: Poor planning, with many last-minute tasks; the committee was formed too late; there was uneven task separation among the committee; and some committee members had late attendance.
• Opportunity: Learned how to handle an event.
• Threats: Low turnout, despite the high registration (a significant drop-off rate of approximately 50% between registration and attendance).
