March 8th: The Power of Being a Woman
Empowering women in STEM
π General Event Description
In the framework of International Women’s Day (March 8th), a commemorative event will be held to highlight, recognize, and strengthen the role of women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
This initiative will be jointly organized by the IEEE Unisimón student chapters, including WIE, CIS, ED, RAS, CS, Branch, SSIT, among others, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration that reflects the diversity of areas within the IEEE community.
The event will integrate institutional segments, interactive activities, a film screening, an open discussion panel, and networking spaces, allowing attendees not only to learn about influential women in STEM but also to share their own experiences, challenges, and motivations within academic and professional environments.
The goal is to create a welcoming, safe, and participatory environment that fosters open dialogue, collective reflection, and the strengthening of the student community. The event will be aligned with the mission of IEEE and Women in Engineering (WIE) to promote leadership, equity, and professional development for women in engineering and technology.
Through this collaboration among chapters, the institutional commitment to building a more inclusive, diverse, and participatory environment is reinforced, encouraging recognition of female talent and inspiring new generations to shape the future through STEM.
