Abstract - the mobile communications revolution started with the development of the cellular telephone in the 1980s. We'll track the development and the key technologies up to the present day. We'll review generations 1G through 6G. We'll take a look a future trends, including the potential impact of AI.
Bio:
Manfred (Fred) Schindler has worked in the RF semiconductor industry as a design engineer and leader at large and small companies including RFMD/Qorvo, IBM, Raytheon. He’s contributed numerous technical articles and magazine columns and has 11 patents. He’s an IEEE life Fellow and an MTT Honorary Life Member. He’s been an active IEEE volunteer for over 30 years, including as MTT president, IEEE Conferences Committee Chair (ICC), Div IV Director, VP Technical Activities.
