IEEE UWT Student Branch - Spring 2026 Officer Meeting (#1) - Welcome Back!
This meeting, we went through a lot on our agenda.
We prepared for the upcoming involvement fair (where student organizations can recruit more members), gathering officers who can table at the fair, and redesigned our trifold design. We have also developed talking points for us to know what to say to people who are interested.
We have successfully planned out our schedule for our weekly meetings for both officer and general member meetings. We have gathered 3 professional guest speakers, as well as our lineup of workshops we will host throughout the remaining quarter.
We have prepared elections where we will have nominations for a week. After the nomination period, each nominee will have a speech, providing their statement to all members. Afterwards, the final cohort will be voted for in the following week.
We have also prepared the agenda for the upcoming first general meeting where we will provide documentation templates for the 10 group project teams to develop documentation for specification and design, and their roadmap to provide us with their progress on their project throughout the year.
We have decided who we will reach out for more collaborative opportunities and events as well.
We have also gotten progress on planning our Hardware Hackathon where we are on the road to finalizing our agenda and plans. We just need to gather the funding.
Overall, we had a lot of work completed this meeting, and we look forward to continuing hosting even more events!
