Artificial intelligence is transforming industries and creating new opportunities across software engineering, data science, research, product development, and domain-specific applications. At the same time, the path into AI can feel overwhelming because of the rapid pace of new tools, models, and technologies. This talk will provide a practical roadmap for building skills and career momentum in AI. It will cover the foundational technical areas needed for modern AI work, including programming, data analysis, machine learning fundamentals, deep learning concepts, generative AI, and model evaluation. The session will also discuss different AI career pathways, ways to build relevant experience, and strategies for preparing for AI/ML technical interviews or transitioning into AI-focused roles. A key theme of the talk will be that successful AI careers are built not only on understanding models, but also on solving meaningful problems, communicating clearly, and building
reliable systems that people can use and trust. Attendees will leave with actionable guidance for developing their AI skill set and identifying practical next steps toward AI-related opportunities.
