Title: Giving inductors a boost: tackling core saturation

Abstract:
Lossy and large inductors often limit the performance of power electronics. In many cases, these inductors are most constrained by the saturation of their core material. This talk will first explore which types of inductor designs are more limited by saturation. The talk will then present one solution for boosting inductor saturation performance using a permanent magnet hybrid core.
