Girl Geeks 2026 is a flagship initiative of the IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter, designed to inspire and empower engineering students through innovation, technical learning, and leadership development. Conducted over four weeks, the programme provides participants with an opportunity to work collaboratively on solving real-world problems by applying the principles of design thinking, creativity, and rapid prototyping.

As part of this initiative, participating colleges will organize a series of workshops and mentoring sessions to guide student teams through every stage of the innovation process—from identifying meaningful problem statements to developing practical, user-centric solutions. Teams will receive technical guidance, refine their ideas through structured activities, and prepare prototypes that address real societal or industrial challenges.

The best-performing teams from each participating institution will be shortlisted to represent their college at the Girl Geeks 2026 Grand Finale, organized in collaboration with IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE), Bangalore, where they will present their solutions before a panel of experts.

This workshop serves as an introductory and technical session, providing participants with an overview of the programme, the design thinking methodology, problem identification techniques, ideation strategies, and expectations for successful project execution. The session also aims to encourage innovation, teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership while familiarizing students with the programme timeline, evaluation criteria, and available mentorship throughout the initiative.
