How to Hotwire a Generator
Tech Talk: How to Hotwire a Generator
In April 2026, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydropower Personnel were tasked to help get a defunct, privately owned hydrogenator up and running “as fast as possible” in Cheboygan, Michigan during emergency flooding conditions without any plan of attack, drawings, or background information before stepping foot onsite. This presentation will go over the situation leading up to the event, challenges, and atypical decisions made to achieve this goal. Don’t try this at home!
