Research Excellence and Research Problem Identification & Industry-driven Research Workshop

Identifying a meaningful and well-defined research problem is often one of the most time-consuming challenges faced by PhD scholars, professionals. In particular, many potentially impactful industry-driven problems remain unexplored in academic research, while scholars spend considerable time searching for, identifying, and validating research problems that are both relevant and practically significant.
To address this gap, IEEE Sensors Council and IEEE ComSoc Bangalore Chapter are organizing a two-day workshop designed to connect research scholars, young faculty, professionals and freshers with practical research opportunities, industry challenges, and the tools needed to convert ideas into quality research outcomes.
Day 1 will focus on building a strong foundation for researchers, covering practical approaches to identifying and formulating research problems, writing high-quality conference and journal papers, developing publishable research, and identifying patentable innovations.
Day 2 will bring the focus directly to real-world problems presented by industry experts from diverse technology domains, including Signal Processing, Communications, Networking, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Sensors, Cloud Computing, IoT, Space and Defense, AI/ML applications in different technology domain. The objective is to expose participants to current industry challenges and help them identify research problems with clear practical relevance and potential for collaboration.

The workshop will be particularly valuable for PhD scholars, researchers, faculty members, and industry professionals who are looking to identify meaningful research problems, develop research proposals, pursue funding and project grants, generate publications and patents, and establish stronger academia–industry research collaboration.
The key message of the workshop is simple: Move beyond searching for research problems and learn how to discover problems that matter.
Registration is Mandatory. Registration Charges (Commitment Fee): for one day: Rs.500 and for both days: Rs 900. Note: Tea/Snacks and Lunch will be provided.
