PCB WORKSHOP

Objective:

The 'PCB workshop' event was conducted as a part of IEEE CBIT.The main objective of the workshop is to give students a basic idea of the designing and fabrication of Printed  Circuit Boards(PCB). The event aimed at involving the second year ECE students. The event provided them with an opportunity to get practical experience and learn outside the classroom more in the core subjects.

Event details:

• The event was inaugurated by ECE HOD Dr. N.V.Koteshwara Rao sir and co-ordinated by G.Mallikarjun Rao sir and Kiran Kumar sir. IEEE Executive body played an active role in organising the sessions in association with Mr.Srinivas of Prayog Labs pvt. ltd.
• The workshop was held for one complete day from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. The event was conducted in 4 sessions with 2 morning and 2 afternoon sessions. The event also provided lunch and snacks to participants. There was a lunch break at 1:15 pm and break for 10 minutes in both the sessions at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
• The participants were divided into 2 teams. While one team attended the software session the other team was in laboratory designing the tracks on PCB boards.
• The The workshop mainly deals with learning KiCAD software which is used for the design of PCB. Then the designed circuits are fabricated on Copper boards in the laboratory .
• The PCB design also involved drilling into the copper boards and soldering components in their respective slots.
• The event was made successful due to the immense participation of students and the efforts of IEEE excom in organizing.
